AIG Oyediran Oyeyemi Adesoye psc fsi was born to the family of Mallam Yusuf and Hajia Rafat Oyediran. He hails from Igosun in Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Nigeria’s Premier University, the University of Ibadan and served the Nation as a Youth Corps Member in Benue State between 1986 and 1987. AIG Oyediran was appointed into the Nigeria Police Force as a member of cadet ASP course 16/1990 and trained at the Nigeria Police Academy Annex, Kaduna. He started his career as an Assistant Superintendent of Police on probation in Edo State and upon completion of his one-year mandatory field study, he was posted as Command Staff Officer Inspectorate 1991 – 1992, District Officer Igbanke, Etete and Evbuotubu Police Stations, 1992 – 1995, Divisional Police Officer Okada, New Benin, Auchi and Evbuotubu Divisions, 1995 – 2000. AIG Oyediran’s Known for bursting men of the underworld and this earned him the nick name “Ghost” as he was known to chase robbers to as far as Kajola in Ondo State and returned them to Benin for prosecution.

He was then redeployed to Ogun State where he served as DPO Adatan, Agbara, Owode – Egbado and Idiroko Divisions among others from 2000 to 2008. He also served as the Command Paymaster from 2008 to 2010. Due to his crime fighting prowess, he was posted to Ondo State Police Command as a Chief Superintendent of Police to oversee the affairs of the State Criminal Investigation Department in acting capacity as the Assistant Commissioner of Police In-charge of CID until March 2012 when he was promoted to the substantive rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police and retained in SCID Akure till 2015. He was then transferred to Oyo Area Command as the Area Commander, Oyo from where he went on a ten-month executive course at the Institute for Security Studies, Abuja in 2016. He was promoted as a Deputy Commissioner of Police in April 2017 and deployed as DC CID, Ebonyi State from where he was posted as DC Finance and Administration Akwa-Ibom State Command. He was promoted as a Commissioner of Police in December 2020 and served as CP Nigeria Police Railway Command, Ebute-meta, Lagos and Ondo State Command.

AIG Oyediran Oyeyemi Adesoye, psc, fsi was promoted to the enviable rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police on the 27th of March 2023 and was posted to the Department of Training and Development as the AIG of the Department. He currently serves as the AIG Police Cooperative a position he has held since the 4th of September 2023. AIG Oyediran has attended various courses including Junior Command Course, Intermediate Command Course, Senior Command Course, United States of America sponsored course on Strategic Action Plan on Kidnapping and Hostage Taking and Executive Intelligence Management Course. He is also a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police

He is happily married with kids and his hobbies Include Reading, playing draft and engaging in various sporting activities.
